About the Maker
Welcome back to Kneedles n' Klay! Every piece in this catalogue is a labour of love, handcrafted by me - Shayna - the Canada-based solo creator behind this small but heart-felt endeavor. Since I was a kid, I'd told my Mom how awesome and rewarding it would be to be able to make things that brought a splash of happiness and unique expression to others. After stepping away from professional theatre and singing, and undergoing a radical life overhaul in the last few years, I decided to take the plunge and started dedicating time to making my "what if" a reality. It's been an ongoing exploration of new skills and creativity, and I am so happy to be able to share it with my supporters! I'm largely inspired by the beauty of the Canadian wilderness, some whispers of nostalgia, and the simple joys found in a used piece of clothing, discarded yarn, left-over clay, or other items that deserve a second life. Each piece I create makes use of some form of upcycled or rescued material; I largely let the findings dictate what I make next, which guarantees that every creation is unique! Whether you're searching for a gift, or treating yourself to a little slice of handmade happiness, I hope you enjoy exploring, discovering, and connecting with the various mediums and options available.
